Script: Lucy’s house.
Jeanne coming up the stairs; wary of who is there, confused, filming her footsteps as she comes up the stairs slowly.
Dottie:
*humming in the background innocently*
Jeanne:
*whisper* hello? (scared and wary)
(Jeanne stops outside the bathroom door puts ear to the door, singing gets louder and looks confused)
Jeanne:
what?
*creak of the bathroom door slowly opening*
(From window perspective, not breaking 180 rule, seeing door open from the other side, Jeanne pops head round door)
Dottie:
still singing, unsuspecting of Jeanne looking in on her.
Jeanne:
close up of her shocked reaction
Jeanne:
oh my god what the hell d’you think you’re doing? Who the heck are you? What are you doing in my house? This is ridiculous, im not having it…(all the while dottie standing there almost smiling).
(Dotties reaction is shown)
*shot reverse shot of the two of them*
Dottie:
didn’t you know? Im sleeping with your husband.
(Close up zoom in of jeanne’s shocked face)
A creative and interesting preliminary task with a clear narrative and some sense of characterisation and setting. The variety of camera angles is effective, as is the sense of movement created by the POV shots coming up the stairs. The match on action is strong and there is some use of shot reverse shot. The task demonstrates a good understanding of camera work and the basic rules. Well done!
